The recent alarm management seminar held in Aberdeen by Matrikon Europe Ltd (TSX:MTK) proved to be a huge success. Mike Bowbyes, Head of Matrikon's UK Product's Division said, "We were overwhelmed by the response we had from interested companies. This shows that process alarm management is a hot topic. Some of our delegates travelled from as far away as Norway to hear presentations from leading industry experts. There certainly seem to be a lot of companies out there that know they must improve their alarm management but need guidance on the best way forward"

As well as presentations from Matrikon's own senior engineers, the UK's HSE (Health & Safety Executive) was there to talk about the importance of continually improving process alarm management from a legislative point of view.

Perhaps one of the most interesting presentations was given by Shell who demonstrated how they have gone about their own alarm management activities on some of their flagship assets in the North Sea.

Other presenters included EEMUA, authors of EEMUA 191 ‘Alarm Systems - A Guide to Design, Management and Procurement' and ABB Engineering Services.

With more than 4,000 installations world-wide, Matrikon is one of the leading suppliers of process alarm management products and services. For more information on how you can increase profitability and improve overall site safety by better alarm handling visit the Matrikon website at http://www.matrikon.com/ or call Sean Herring on +44 (0) 1629 580886.
