MMS releases seismic maps

The Minerals Management Service released seismic map and line images from the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf on CD-ROMs. The seismic information was acquired by the MMS in 1976 through seismic permits issued in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic OCS. Federal regulations required that the geophysical information acquired under OCS permit must be released 25 years after the information was submitted and retained by the MMS.

The first set of CD ROMs for 2001 release contains seismic line and map images of the following areas: Gulf of Mexico-OCS-Florida and Louisiana; Mid and South Atlantic OCS; North Atlantic OCS; Gulf of Mexico OCS, Texas and areas off Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Additional CD ROMs will be available later in the year.
