DTN has announced important enhancements to DTN Fuel Buyer™, a web-based application that provides instant access to supplier price messaging from DTN DataConnect™. Rack and spot price discovery and easy-to-use price analysis tools determine the best buy from all possible purchase options; also delivering important industry news, weather, and market information – in one convenient location. DTN Fuel Buyer speeds buyers’ reaction time to sudden changes in volatile markets, helping to maximize the profitability of every buy.
New price analysis tools include contracts and special prices, blended products and potential freight costs to help buyers measure best buying opportunities. Users can now leverage enhanced analysis tools in DTN Fuel Buyer to add contract prices and special prices based on a differential off rack or index prices at multiple terminals. These special prices will update automatically with daily and intra-day price changes. Users can also create product blend recipes to automatically compare the posted products for pre-blended products to the cost of splash blends. Whether splashing ethanol, bio-diesel, or simply regular and premium to make mid-grade, the right answer is calculated and ranked automatically.
New freight differentials give buyers the ability to include all factors in their buying decisions. User-defined calculations can include minimum gallons and freight surcharge zones for specific delivery locations. With this new best rack feature, users can now better evaluate the true best pull points for specific customer destinations.
New enterprise level administration helps ensure all buyers in an organization have access to the same, comprehensive information. Administrators can maintain freight rate tables, special contacts and price rules, set outages, and blend recipes throughout the organization.
