National Oilwell Varco chosen to supply equipment for Drillship

National Oilwell Varco, Inc. announced that its Norwegian subsidiary was chosen to provide a comprehensive package of drilling equipment, valued at over $200 million, for a drillship to be constructed in Korea. National Oilwell Norway AS entered into a contract with Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., which will fabricate the vessel for Ferncliff Drilling AS. The drillship is expected to be delivered in 2009. The package represents the largest single equipment package order the Company has ever received.
