Murphy Oil Corporation has announced based on preliminary inspections, minimal damage has been sustained as a result of Hurricane Rita to the Company's operated producing facilities at Front Runner (37.5%) and Medusa (60%) in the Gulf of Mexico. The Front Runner field is located in 3,500 feet of water on Green Canyon Blocks 338 and 339, approximately 135 miles south-southeast of Houma, Louisiana. The Medusa facility is located in 2,200 feet of water on Mississippi Canyon Blocks 538 and 582 approximately 70 miles south of New Orleans. As previously reported, Medusa sustained minimal damage as a result of Hurricane Katrina last month and had not resumed production prior to Hurricane Rita. We expect production at Front Runner to resume within a few days and ramp up to pre-hurricane levels but can give no estimate concerning when Medusa will resume production due to downstream pipeline issues.
