Delta Petroleum Corporation has announced that most of the wells that were shut in as a result of Hurricane Rita have been returned to production. Approximately 12.3 million cubic feet equivalents (Mmcfe) per day of production in Company-operated wells that were shut in on September 22, 2005 was restored on October 5, 2005. Additional wells representing approximately 700 thousand cubic feet equivalents (Mcfe) per day of production are expected to resume operations within the next 10 days.

In addition to the previously announced Company-operated production that was disrupted by the hurricane, non-operated production of approximately 5 Mmcfe net per day was also shut in from September 22, 2005 to September 29, 2005. This production was shut in as a precautionary measure but was ultimately unaffected by Hurricane Rita.
