This December the oil industry will gather in The Energy Capital of the World to pay tribute to its own.
The first annual Offshore Energy Achievement Awards, with opening remarks by Houston Mayor Bill White, will celebrate
outstanding achievement in a wide range of technical and operational categories. This event is scheduled for December 16, 2004 in
Houston, Texas, at the Hilton of the Americas.
The goal of this event is to publicize the positive contributions of the oil and gas industry both in Houston and around the globe.
This lavish affair will feature live music, a black tie reception, fine dining, and celebrity presenters.
Led by Selection Committee Chairman Don Weisinger of BP, the Offshore Energy Achievement Awards is an unbiased assessment of the year's outstanding accomplishments.
Nominees will vie for honors in: Project, Engineer, Driller, Contractor, CEO, and Operator of the Year; as well as Downhole, Subsea, and Surface Technologies of the Year.
The event will also recognize exceptional work in the fields of HSE and Employee Training/Best Practices.
To complement the awards ceremony there will be a multimedia presentation acknowledging record-breaking achievements in a variety of technical categories.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to support the Weiss Energy Hall at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
