"VNIIBT-Burovoi Instrument" LLC

"VNIIBT-BI" is the Russian leading enterprise on design and production of downhole drilling motors, hydraulic hydroturbine downhole motors, including those of geared type, various equipment for oil and gas well drilling and workover, and equipment for downhole drilling motor repair works. "VNIIBT-BI" consolidated five enterprises, and each of them filled in its name in the history of the Russian mechanical engineering for oil and gas industry. The amalgamation comprises the Perm branch office of the "VNIIBT", viz. NPO "Burovaya Tekhnika" OJSC which is specialized in development of low-speed high-torque hydraulic downhole motors. Today it is a parent enterprise of the "VNIIBT-Burovoi Instrument" LLC .

SRC "Neftegaztekhnika", Perm city, is specialized in development and production of hydraulic hydroturbine downhole motors and hydraulic hydroturbine downhole motors of geared type. The Kotovsk subsidiary of the "VNIIBT-Burovoi Instrument" LLC (Kotov town, the Volgograd region) is specialized in development and implementation of products intended for well drilling and well workover, and also emergency tools for drill and production strings. The Pavlovski subsidiary of the "VNIIBT-Burovoi Instrument" LLC (Pavlovski settlement, the Perm region) is specialized in production of downhole drilling motors, hydraulic hydroturbine downhole motors, core recovery devices. NPO "Burovaya Tekhnika" OJSC (Moscow city) is specialized in well drilling/construction design works and engineering support, drilling tool engineering, rendering technological services.

So, "VNIIBT-BI" is in its way a unique enterprise of Russia which carries out the entire operation cycle starting from an engineering concept and ending with the service maintenance. At the present time "VNIIBT-BI" manufactures more than 60 types of downhole drilling motors diameter from 43 to 240 mm for drilling of straight, intentionally deviated, horizontal and horizontally branched wells, and also for well workover and ratholing from casings, and use in coltubing technology.

Moreover,"VNIIBT-BI" manufactures the widest range of drilling tools including all components and elements of bottom hole assembly BHA. Enterprises of the amalgamation work permanently on improvement in the quality of production and rendered services, development of new and modification of the existing equipment; the enterprises also manufacture custom-made products following special requirements of a client. "VNIIBT-BI? is the only manufacturer in Russia which bench test all motors of own production. All the manufactured goods are certified within the Russian Oil-and-Gas Production Equipment Certification System. In August 2005 the Enterprise is planning to certify the Quality Management System within the American Petroleum Institute (API).
