Asset Accounting Lead

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Asset Accounting Lead, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities Include:

Support the strategy, business plan and annual business performance contract

Supervision of Asset Accounting (AA) team.

Supervision of Accounts Payable (AP) team.

Responsible for setting responsibilities and individual objectives for AA and AP teams.

Responsible for AA and AP monthly/quarterly/year-end financial close in accordance with timetable

Responsible for AA timely preparation of monthly partner billings for all Operated licenses

Provide business focused support to UK Operations team (UK Ops)

Responsible for AFE management within UK business

Responsible for Performance and Cost Reporting in support of UK Ops Asset Managers

Responsible for accounting and budgeting for all UK exploration, development, and producing assets (both Operated and Non-Operated)

Responsible for all AA and AP general ledger balances

Coordination of monthly asset re-forecasts including data collection and manage internal processes, providing variance commentary to incorporate in UK monthly corporate re-forecast

Manage and support internal and external Joint Venture audits

Support statutory audit requirements

Ability to deputise for Finance Manager as required

Familiarise with the Company Management System and its meaning for day-to-day work;

Familiarise with the work and be aware of all associated risks for People, the Environment, Assets and Reputation (PEAR);

Report any incident, near miss, hazards (unsafe acts/situations) and improvement suggestions; Know their roles and responsibilities;

Actively participate in any job or HSEQ training or instruction by or on behalf of Dana Petroleum;

Use all provided means as intended and according to their purpose.

Education & Experience:

Qualified / Part Qualified Chartered Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent)

Considerable finance experience in the upstream oil and gas industry with exposure to producing assets, exploration activity and operated/non operated activity.

Experience of managing a team with a confident character, able to influence others

Understanding of Joint Operating Agreements, joint venture accounting and vendor contracts

Demonstrable experience of presenting financial information to Senior Management.

High level of systems skills and understanding of business process. * Competent in accounting software packages (Sun and Hyperion preferred) and strong excel skills.

General technical understanding of offshore operations
